My story
I have been running the gallery for over 17 years. Founded by Gérard and Edith Goubet upon their return from the Dominican Republic, it showcases original works by Caribbean artists at affordable prices. The gallery aims to highlight the unique features of Caribbean painting, emphasizing warm colours, black and white, the naive style, and much more.
My mum is an amateur artist, so I grew up surrounded by more or less famous artists. Our library was full of art books, and we regularly visited museums. After my management studies, I spent 18 months in New York where I reconnected with the art world by diligently frequenting the Metropolitan Museum, the Guggenheim, and the MoMA. Back in France, I lived in the Paris region for 15 years, discovering the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay.
Upon arriving in Martinique in search of an improved quality of life, I seized the opportunity to immerse myself in the world of painting by striving to promote painters.
As the owner of an online art gallery, I am proud to showcase talented Caribbean artists who skillfully blend tradition and modernity in their creations.
I believe that art is a powerful way to convey a message and evoke emotions in viewers.
